The Intuition Workout
Try the starting quiz, ten rounds of the Symbols Test and one Dot Workout card. The rest is waiting in the full workout, in the Soriah School of Tarot shop.
Intuition is that quick knowing that arrives before you can explain why. Some call it the subconscious drawing on everything you have learned. Some call it your higher self. Some say it comes from spirit. However you see it, the skill of hearing it is the same.
I am a logical reader. I believe most things can be explained. I also believe there is a part of us we do not fully understand yet, and I have trusted it at the reading table for over thirty years.
Intuition is like a muscle. The more you work it, the better it becomes. This is your workout.
Catch the first thought
Your first impression arrives in a second or two. Notice it before you start to reason it away.
Notice your body
A pull, a tightness, a word that pops in, the place your eye goes first. These are signals.
Calm, not loud
Intuition tends to feel quiet and matter of fact. Worry tends to feel loud and urgent.
Keep score
Trust grows when you see your hunches land. This page keeps score for you as you train.
Your workout
These are practice exercises to train your intuition. Nothing here is a card reading.
Where are you now?
The Symbols Test
Based on the classic Zener card test.
One card is face down. Look at it and wait for the first symbol that comes to you. Press that symbol in the key below. Then press the card to turn it over. You start with two symbols and build up to ten. Some would say it is chance. See how often you are right.
The Dot Workout
Each glowing dot sits on one detail that is drawn on the card, such as a crown or a moon. In the tarot, details like these carry their own meanings, and they can speak to a question in different ways.
Read the question and ask it of yourself. Then look at the card and press the dot your eye goes to first, before you start to think. You only get one choice, so trust it. Once you choose, the other dots disappear.
You will then see one way that detail could be read against the question. This is not a reading. It is there to show you where your intuition took you, and to give you something to reflect on.
Gut or Fear?
The hardest part of trusting your intuition is telling it apart from worry. Read each thought below. Is it your gut speaking, or your fear?
Find the Suit
Three cards are face down. One of them belongs to the suit named below. Do not think about it. Press the card you feel drawn to, and all three will turn over.
Quick Flip
A card turns over for two seconds, then turns back. Do not study it. Press the feeling that came to you first. There is no wrong feeling. This shows you whether your first impression matches the way that scene is most often felt.
Feel the Card
Your gut comes first here. Look at the face down card and ask yourself one thing. Does this card feel light or heavy? Choose before you see it, then it turns over.
